Ensemble Flautarchi
In 1999, Swiss Flutist Martin Huber assembled three fellow
musicians to create an ensemble with this specific ideal combination
of woodwind and strings. The ensemble Flautarchi was quickly acknowleged
as one of the promising ensembles of the young generation. In 2002
they won the KIWANIS- Competition, one of the most presticious Awards
in Switzerland.
The members of 'Flautarchi' are all players of the leading orchestras
in Switzerland as Tonhalle Zurich, Kammerochester Basel and Opera
of Zurich and have been playing together with such great musicians
like Martha Argerich, Gioria Feidman, Clemens Hagen, Walter Delahunt,
Aiyun Huang, Stringquartetts like Alban Berg, Amadeus and La Salle
and many others.
Due to the combination of instruments, Flautarchi focuses primarily
on the Vienna Classics with Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven but continuosly
increases their repertoire. Historical sidesteps are hardly never
missing and the group regularly commissions new music by contemporary
composers.
